Because this is now a communist state and that’s what communist do. The yellow-streaked back politicians here don’t want to be seen as defending “predators” (even the “news” media uses that term when talking about the registry) even thought eh 6th Circuit struck down the law as unconstitutional punishment and SCOTUS let that ruling stand by not hearing the case from Michigan. The registry will finally end here as it should. The ACLU is fighting it and looking to open legislative hearings on the matter as well as pursuing it in Court to enforce the 6th Circuit decision.
