RM150: Louisiana Supreme Court Rules ID Law Unconstitutional

We start off with our 3 year birthday celebration. Wow. We’ve come so far 🙂

The breaking news segment teased the Louisiana PFR ID Requirement decision. Short answer: Good for us 🙂

[5:30] We only had one question from behind the bars from David. David asked if he should consider buying a house before being released from prison. It seems David thought through the issues pretty well.

RM149: Man Arrested For Failing To Notify Angel Watch

On this weeks episode, we covered a story involving a man who was arrested for not providing the requisite 3 weeks notice before traveling out of the country. This is really a tragedy. Larry thinks that this is where the litigation should be focused on. There are various situations where you might not have 3 weeks advance notice. A death in the family is just one such example.

You **MUST** go watch the FYP Studios movie called “The Intruders”. This is a 10 minute long movie based on real life events of the horrible treatment that PFRs are faced with. This is a must see. And I sincerely hope that you enjoy it. https://youtu.be/iowB_E6U9Jc

RM148: Jury Acquittal Explained by Attorney Ashley Reymore-Cloud

On this weeks show, Ashley Reymore-Cloud returns as our guest. She’s appeared with us numerous times before. She is a great guest! I love having her on.

Ashley has just tried a case that involved sexual accusations in District Court Bernalillo County, which is Albuquerque. It resulted in an acquittal. We’re going to do a somewhat deep dive into to the results of that trial and the nuances of that of that trial. For those who were skeptical if she actually does defend people, or she’s a sellout. I think that this would be one of those where when you look at what the person was facing, which we’ll get into, and the result of what now he’s facing, is a spectacular, spectacular outcome.

Ashley Reymore-Cloud
ashley@zennlaww.net

** NOTE ** There were just a whole mess of technical challenges on the show. Be kind 🙂

We had her on to discuss a recent case she won. Larry and Ashley talked about the different strategies that need to be considered before entering the court room.

RM147: Dr. Pelloski’s Analysis of Media Bias on PFRs

We are proud to have Dr. Chris Pelloski this week. Dr. Pelloski wrote a response to NPR regarding their segment which aired in early September. This segment had numerous factual errors regarding PFRs, and being classified as “missing”. Dr. Pelloski earned his medical degree from the Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago in 2001 and was accepted into the Radiation Oncology Residency Training Program at the University of Texas – MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and served on faculty there and the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center. He ran his own full clinical practice, supervised his own basic-science research laboratory, and served as the OSU department’s residency program director and as the director of pediatric radiation oncology.

RM146: Denied Parole for Refusing to Admit Responsibility

On this weeks episode, we started off with a couple questions. One of which was if you can be denied parole, if you refuse to admit guilt while incarcerated. It would be a very tough pill to swallow to genuinely not be guilty, and you’re forced to admit to something you didn’t do.

RM145: Registration in Wisconsin Requires Annual Payment of $100.00

Transcript of RM145: Registration in Wisconsin Requires Annual Payment of $100.00

We were joined by one of our patrons, Justin. He asked us a question a little while back about paying a fee to Wisconsin of $100 per year. He receives this bill even though he doesn’t, and has never lived in Wisconsin. Would you pay it if you were threatened with arrest and all that, even though you don’t live in the state. And it’s not like he lives close by. He lives on the other side of the country.

Josh Hoe of Decarceration Nation and Twitter extraordinaire joined us this week for further discussion on the Willman case that we discussed in RM142. Josh is a very generous guest and always comes prepared to challenge Larry; and this I promise is a good thing! 🙂

RM141: Millard v. Camper Dispiriting Tenth Circuit Decision

On this weeks episode, we went into great detail regarding the recent decision in Colorado regarding the punitive nature of the registry. The attorney, Alison Ruttenberg did a fantastic job. The judge that heard the case ruled in our favor. This is the result of the appeal that was filed in the 10th Circuit. A unanimous decision was reached by the 3 judge panel. It is a dispiriting decision.
